BGC Niagara Pandemic Reopening Plans
at March 2022
Message from the Executive Director
After two years of ongoing closures and restrictions to keep our communities safe, the provincial government is lifting key restrictions March – April 2022. Following suit, at March 14, the BGC Niagara has rescinded its Immunization Disclosure Policy and lifted mandatory vaccination protocol for entering the community space in the Niagara Falls Center and the EJ Freeland Community Center.
Effective March 21, 2022, the BGC Niagara lifted most screening masking and distancing requirements in all programs and centers, in accordance with provincial directives.
Effective April 27, the BGC Niagara will lift other mandates and emergency orders as advised by the province.
Please know that further reopening and recovery plans are underway.
After this lengthy pandemic, there have been key changes in society and the economy that will not lend themselves to immediate reversion to post pandemic times with a stroke of a pen. The pandemic changed social and economic structures globally and locally which will impact the BGC Niagara reopening and recovery plans. That means reopening programs and services will be far more challenging than closing them.
Please monitor the BGC Niagara website at www.bgcn.ca for ongoing updates.
On behalf of the Board and staff, thank you to our participants and families for your patience, cooperation and support throughout this unprecedented and challenging time.
JoAnne Turner
Executive Director
